Kuta Beach Lombok Tourist Facilities
Kuta Beach
and resort area it’s in infancy. Civilization is limited to
a small group of hotel headed by a single luxury
property and a stretch of beach road with some colorful
traditionally styled restaurants, a few thatch roofs,
and a fishing boat riding at anchor.
It is the major centre of tourism development on the
south coast, but still a sleepy place of only a few
permanent residents. It very small development with far
fewer tourist than in famous Kuta Beach on Bali, but
there are big plans to develop a whole stretch of the
superb south coast with luxury hotels. And it is also
the base for exploring Lombok's southern beaches and the
many points of interest in the region.
General Information
Police office located at Jl.
Raya Kuta Mawun opposite of soccer court close by Kimen surf
shop. Money changer available at Segara Anak Bungalows but the
exchange rates are not very good.
Money Changer
There is no Bank nor ATM's in Kuta beach Lombok, the closest ATM is in Praya 30 minutes drive form Kuta. Most of the hotels and guest houses provide foreign curency exchange with low rates. Do change money at the airpot or onthe way to Kuta ask the driver stop over at Melati Dua cakra Negara for better rate. The only better exchange rate are in Segara Anak home stay.
Telekomunication and Internet service
The are not much option for telecomunication on this area, try Anda home stay and Surfer Inn for better internet connection. For telephone call, there are a Wartel (warung telekomunikasi) open till late located near Segara Anak home stay.
Accommodation
There are plenty much option
places to stay on Kuta region ranging from the Luxury of
Novotel hotel to the basic home stay. Most of the hotels
situated on the beach and provide surfing information.
Surfing
Most of Lombok's south coasts
offer surf-seekers challenging waves of various grades.
Particularly there are four surf-points, which are highly
recommended for surf lovers. Within the Lombok's Kuta Beach
there are two points, namely Gerupuk that provides neutral
waves, and Aik Guling offering waves mostly for the
left-handed. Several kilometers to the West of Kuta Beach
there is Pengantap desert point that provides various grades
of attractions, but it is ideal only during the periods of
June, July, August, December and January. The next break is at
Ekas Beach that reserves challenging waves and
reef-break-points, reachable by boat or by land from Kuta
Beach on an approximately one and half hour cruise.

Kimen Surf Shop, Everything from legroopes, deckgrip, fins, booties, wax, surf hat, rash vest, fin plug, fin keys, board covers and travel protectors to reef cut medicine, sunscreen, zinc, lip balm, dink repair, surf book, etc.
Dinning and Entertainment
There are various of cafe's and
restaurants in town of Kuta. you can eat pretty well and at
reasonable price. Most Tourist and locals socialize and have fun together. In high
season, they can all get crowded by tourist and locals.

Most of the Hotels and Bungalows served breakfast which is included on their room rates. Kuta beach area restaurant has many option of food, most of the restaurant served Indonesia, European and international cuisine.
1. ASHTARI Coffe House, located on the hill with most fantastic view along the south coast. Relax and enjoy daily fresh menu, It's great place for vegetarian.
2. Cafe Cherry, a simple sort of cafe offers you main Indo's and western food, sea food on order ,such Lobster and prawn.
3. Ocean Life Cafe, A bamboo and wooden cafe, gives you a bit of option in the Menu they offer and only local shop for your choice of imported drink and wines.
4. Family Cafe, a cafe with space, Enjoy and select your favorite sea food, western food, chinese and Sasak food (Lombok food).
5. Stella Cafe, a simple cafe with boutique gives you different atmosphere, daily food menu, sea food on order.
6. Bong's Cafe, wooden oven pizza and tacos for a different taste in this area.

1. Cafe Seger, A skillful lady chef offers a tasted Sasak food just next to beach view, best fish in Kuta.
